Construction Administrator

Out of state architectural firm looking for a person knowledgeable of current construction codes, materials and techniques to assist in the delivery of architectural construction administration services for a senior multi- housing project in Richmond, Virginia.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2009 and take approximately 24 months to complete construction of two multi-story buildings. Construction will start with an assisted living building. An independent living building will follow 6 to 8 months after start of assisted living building.

Responsibilities include performing weekly site visits, completing site observation reports, including digital photos; documenting and addressing questions from General Contractor, coordinating responses with Architect's home office, initial review of contractor pay requests and reporting to home office all observations that may require additional documentation or follow up from architectural or engineering staff.

Ideal candidate should have experience with similar services in either an architectural/engineering or construction management role. This position is a part time position and is scheduled for 9-12 hours a week. Salary negotiable

The practice is headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Canada, but we often open a project site office during construction. Currently we have an opening in our Washington, DC site office.Reporting to the Senior Site Professional, the successful applicant will assist in Construction Administration duties on site at Arena Stage, Washington DC. Duties to include the following:

Coordinating and assisting with answering request for information from contractor, preparing site instructions, reviewing shop drawings and the design coordination of Mechanical and Electrical elements within theaters. This will include coordination with client, theater and acoustic consultants, attending coordination meetings with contractor, preparing field reports and developing punch lists. General drafting in Autocad of details for RFI's and Site Instructions.
