The Virginia Society AIA is the state component of the American Institute of Architects. The Society is part of the Region of the Virginias and is comprised of five local Chapters: Blue Ridge, Central Virginia, Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia, and Richmond. Since 1914, VSAIA has represented the professional interests of architects in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects strives to ensure that architects in the Commonwealth are understood to be valuable members of society; it supports the art of architecture and seeks to improve the climate for the practice of architecture in the Commonwealth; and it aspires to provide responsive service to members both directly and in collaboration with other components of the American Institute of Architects.
